Top 5 Microsoft Zune 120GB (third generation) Reviews:
Zune: First Full Review - Gizmodo: Microsoft was kind enough to get us some hands-on time with the Zune, not batting an eye as we eagerly slided the player down our pants, enjoying the material it was made out of. Our thoughts first, then a gallery later. The outside is made out of a rubberized plastic, which goes through an interesting process where they paint the inside a different color than the case—this gives the Zune a two-toned look which both looks and feels great. The corners (meticulously selected down from hundreds of minutely different corners) look like they glow, which is called the quot;doubleshot effectquot;. This comes from the inside radius being different from the outside radius.
Microsoft Zune Review - Any Thing but iPod: The portable audio market is a multibillion-dollar industry and continues to grow at exponential rates. So of course everyone wants a piece of that market, including Microsoft. The Zune, introduced many months ago, has gotten off to an OK start but is by no means a category killer. This is mainly due to what I think was a rush to the market with a hacked-together piece of hardware, half-baked firmware, and over-hyped wireless functionality.
80 GB Microsoft Zune Review - Devhardware: Right now it seems as if Apple has a stranglehold on the portable multimedia device industry. I#039;d say almost every American from the age of 6 to 60 has at least seen or heard of an iPod. Just think how that makes Bill Gates feel. Of course, Microsoft had to retaliate with the Zune. Never heard of it? Then keep reading to find out more about the 80 GB Microsoft Zune.
Zune review - Engadget: Ok, we had a bit of a rough start after getting open the box and all, but we#039;ve given the Zune, and its software, sharing, wireless, etc. as good a looking over as we could hope to. We#039;ve got things we like, and things we don#039;t; rough edges to go right along with the well thought-out niceties. We came away underwhelmed and not at all surprised -- and why? The expectations were for Microsoft to deliver a quot;Microsoftquot; player and system; maybe not too shabby looking, but not very usable, and definitely bug-ridden. But everyone hoped Microsoft had got it right this time, eschewed patterns of old and gotten a fresh start with new blood willing to think about things from outside the staid Microsoft culture. But that just wasn#039;t the case. It#039;s a Microsoft product (in the vernacular sense) through and through. Click on to find out why in our full review of the Zune, Zune player, and Zune marketplace. (And we do mean full.)
